Privacy Policy

Last updated: 8/6/2026

Scaredycast is a podcast and YouTube show produced by Tony and Kelsey in Arizona. This policy covers scaredycast.com. It does not cover Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube, Patreon, TikTok, Instagram, or our merch store, all of which have their own policies and collect their own data.

We are a two person show, not a data company. We collect as little as we can get away with.

What we collect

If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect your email address. That is the only field on the form.

If you contact us about sponsorship, we collect your name, your brand or business name, your email address, which package you are interested in, and whatever you write in the message box.

If you email us directly, we have your email and whatever you sent us.

Automatically, our web host records standard server logs, which include IP addresses, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. This happens on essentially every website and we do not use these logs for anything beyond security and troubleshooting.

We do not require accounts. We do not have a comments section. We do not ask for your name, address, phone number, or payment details anywhere on this site.

How we use it

Newsletter addresses are used to send you the newsletter. That is all. We do not sell, rent, trade, or share our list with sponsors or anyone else.

Sponsorship enquiries are used to reply to you and to discuss working together.

Server logs are used to keep the site running and secure.

Who else is involved

Kit (kit.com) runs our newsletter. When you subscribe, your email address is stored on their systems. Their privacy policy governs what they do with it.

SiteGround hosts this website and processes server logs on our behalf.

We also link out to YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Patreon, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, and our merch store. Following those links takes you to services that track you according to their own policies, not ours.

Cookies

This site does not set advertising or tracking cookies. We do not run Google Analytics or any similar analytics platform.

WordPress, which the site is built on, sets cookies only for people logging in to administer it. If you are just reading the site, that does not include you.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email us and ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We will do it. There is not much to delete.

Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are off the list. You do not need to ask us or explain why.

If you are in the UK or the European Economic Area, you have rights under the UK GDPR and GDPR to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your data, and to receive a copy of it in a portable format. Our legal basis for the newsletter is your consent, which you gave by submitting the form and can withdraw at any time. Our legal basis for handling sponsorship enquiries is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us about business. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

If you are in California, you have rights under the CCPA and CPRA to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to request correction, and to opt out of its sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

To exercise any of this, email [CONTACT EMAIL]. We will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires, and sooner than that in practice.

How long we keep things

Newsletter addresses stay until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Sponsorship enquiries stay as long as there is a live conversation or an active relationship, and get cleared out afterwards. Server logs are retained according to our host’s standard retention period.

Children

This site and this show are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Separately, and obviously: this is a horror show. It is not made for kids.

Security

We use HTTPS across the site. Newsletter data lives with Kit, sponsorship enquiries arrive by email. No system is perfectly secure, and we are not going to pretend otherwise, but there is very little here worth stealing.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If we ever start collecting something meaningfully new, we will say so plainly rather than burying it.
